Our Providers

Terri H. Henson, M.D., F.A.A.D is originally from Coldwater, MS where she graduated from high school in 1979. Dr. Henson obtained her undergraduate degree from Memphis State University (Summa Cum Laude), and her medical degree from the University of Tennessee (Highest Honors).  She did her internship and dermatology residency at UT as well and then was asked to stay and teach which she did for two years before starting her own practice in Southaven in 1999.

Dr. Henson is a fellow (board certified) with the American Academy of Dermatology and has served as the secretary-treasurer with the Memphis Dermatology Society.

She has multiple publications and awards but considers her highest honor being mom to her two sons, Curran and Cullen.  In her spare time, she enjoys scuba and sky diving and traveling with her husband, Steve.

Meet our nurse practitioner, Misty Moore-Ivy.

Mississippi native Misty Moore-Ivy received her Associates in Nursing from Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, MS. She went on to graduate from Delta State University with her Masters of Nursing.  Beginning her career, she worked as a traveling nurse where her first assignment took her to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical in Baltimore, MD.  After three months there, she was assigned to St. Francis Medical Center-West in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

While she loved Hawaii, she loved her work at Johns Hopkins more and applied for a permanent position there. She was hired as the nurse practitioner to manage the inpatient postsurgical care unit in the department of orthopedics.   Her duties included caring for 15 to 20 patients a day, supervising new residents, and to first assist in orthopedic joint cases.  She also worked as a research coordinator, studying effects of continuous nerve blocks on surgical outcomes as well as taught at Community College of Baltimore County and at Towson University.

In 2006 after being away from Mississippi for a few years, Misty decided to return home. She moved to Hernando, MS, and accepted a position at Semmes Murphey Neurology & Spine Institute in Memphis.  She worked as surgical first assist and managed hospitalized neuro/neuro ICU patients.

In 2007, Misty made a huge career shift and jumped into dermatology. She accepted the position offered by Dr. Henson to work at Dermatology Clinic of N MS and has found her true passion.  Misty loves all aspects of medical and cosmetic dermatology and is our resident cosmetic specialist.

Misty currently lives in Hernando with her husband, Josh, and their two children, Mattie Kate and Eli. She is an active member in her church and often sings on the praise team. She also enjoys purre barre and tennis.

We are happy to welcome C. Danielle Thomas as the newest provider in the Dermatology Clinic family.

Ms. Thomas, a board certified physician assistant, is originally from east Tennessee where she earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from King University in Bristol. After graduation, she attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN where she earned her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.  She started at Dermatology Clinic of N MS in June 2017.

Currently, she lives in Memphis with her husband , Jake, and their two dogs: a basset hound named Fred and a Welsh corgi named Riley.

Always excellent service and everyone is so friendly and nice. And I love going to Misty, she always explains things to me and makes you fell special. That means a lot to a just slightly senior person, ha.

She was able to answer all my questions. The money seemed reasonable, which I’ll pay out of my HRA since I haven’t met my deductible this year, and they explained there would also be a lab fee for the biopsy; if they hadn’t explained that lab fee to me beforehand, I think that bill would have confused me. Good job, everybody!
